Stop Motion 360° Interactive Video

Course Name: Capture 1

Course Code: PHO 8810

Original creation date: Sep 2022

I wanted to test creating 360° animations and photogrammetry using photographic equipment. Initially, the intention was for curriculum development as a potential lesson.

Around the same time, I started experimenting with H5P and found the Interactive Video features a great use for building a visual owner manual for the cameras we loan to students. I built a video for each type of camera body owned by the Photography program.

Visually Rich Quiz Content

Course Name: Theory II

Course Code: PHO 8768

Original creation date: March 2023

Teaching photographic theory attempts to bridge an understanding between the photographer's actions (either with a camera, lenses, or lighting), and the visual results they produce. The challenge in a digital environment is Learning Management quiz structures often lack interactivity or consistent support for visually rich content. In March 2023 I tried using H5P to build an open-book quiz for Theory II. The quiz was a low-valued assessment, with a longer than typical due date to accommodate any technical challenges students may encounter. The student response was overwhelmingly positive and I see a benefit to using this tool again for other similar assessments.
