Overview

A unique pairing between a police officer in Windsor and a photography professor in Ottawa resulted in this simulation created for The Adult Learner in the Digital Age in Spring 2022.

For this project, we researched the use of simulations in first responder training. My partner Jamie Adjetey-Nelson served as the subject matter expert, and I worked with him to create and sequence the supporting multimedia assets. We developed a break-and-enter scenario, which I staged and photographed in the Photography program area at Algonquin Colege. As the goal was to showcase what educators could create with readily available tools, I created a variety of 360° and standard images using my cellphone. I sequenced the simulation using ThingLink (which was free at the time). Within the simulation, video, and web content were added to provide additional training information.

During our Zoom class, we presented our process, rationale, and final simulation to our fellow students using the Google slide deck above
