POST-SECONDARY EDUCATOR | DOCTOR OF EDUCATION SCHOLAR
Hi, I'm Tracy, a post-secondary educator, photographer, and doctoral scholar whose work explores teaching, learning, and faculty development in vocational and professional higher education.
I bring fifteen years of post-secondary experience spanning teaching, academic program coordination, curriculum development, instructional design, and faculty support. My career began in creative industries as a commercial photographer before transitioning to higher education in 2011. Since then, I have taught across multiple post-secondary institutions and served as Program Coordinator for Algonquin College's Photography program for seven years. In that role, I supported student recruitment and academic progression, developed industry partnerships, and contributed to institutional service through membership on the Research Ethics Board and Teaching and Learning Advisory Group.
My professional experience in commercial photography continues to shape my approach to education. Working with national retail clients required balancing creativity with project management, collaboration, production workflows, and client relationships—skills that continue to inform my work in curriculum development, academic program coordination, and post-secondary education.
I hold a Master of Education from Ontario Tech University, a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Image Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University, and an Ontario College Diploma in Creative Photography from Humber Polytechnic. I am currently a third-year Doctor of Education student in Learning Sciences at the University of Calgary, where my research focuses on faculty development and professional learning in vocational post-secondary education.
Alongside my doctoral research, I have contributed to educational development through curriculum design, faculty learning initiatives, instructional technology, scholarly publications, conference presentations, and research collaborations. My interests include professional learning, educational technology, and authentic assessment.
This website serves as both a record of my doctoral research and a professional portfolio documenting my work in teaching, curriculum, instructional design, and creative practice.
